The soldier who entered the airport in the BMP was deprived of his driver's license
In Volgograd, a court decision was made in the case of soldier Alexander Zherebtsov, who on October 20, 2020, after drinking vodka, accidentally broke through a concrete fence in an infantry fighting vehicle (BMP-3) and entered the territory of the Gumrak international airport. Zherebtsov was fined 30,000 rubles and deprived of his driver's license for a period of one and a half years.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, the case file states that the armored car drove 1.5 km through the airport and stopped in its territory only because it ran out of fuel (the airport security staff did not know how to stop it). A medical examination carried out five hours later showed that the concentration of alcohol in Zherebtsov's blood was "0.71 milligrams per liter of exhaled air" (this is a lot).
During the court session, Zherebtsov said that he drank vodka with a colleague (the latter escaped punishment) before he sat down at the wheel of the BMP-3, and continued to do this, already driving a combat vehicle during its redeployment from one unit to another. According to one version, the armored car drove into the airport due to the fact that the military got lost, wanting to take a shortcut and catch up with the brigade column.
The Volgograd Garrison Military Court found Zherebtsov guilty of violating clause 2.7 of the SDA.
The fence of the air harbor has already been restored.
