Sberbank brought its own unmanned cars to the roads of Moscow

In April this year, Sberbank created Sber Automotive Technologies (aka SberAvtoTech), which develops autonomous control systems for cars. On December 22, she announced the start of their tests in Moscow.

The drones are based on the Kia Ceed station wagons. That is, Sber's specialists equipped the Korean cars with an autonomous control system of their own design. From the press release of the financial giant, it follows that it was fundamentally important to start testing cars right now, since this is an excellent opportunity to test the development in a winter metropolis - with high humidity, negative temperatures, poor visibility and difficult road conditions.

During the last week of 2020, Sberbank expects to bring the number of its unmanned prototypes on the streets of Moscow to 10 units, their number will continue to grow in 2021. Sber's unmanned vehicles have successfully passed preliminary tests and received all the necessary permits for driving on public roads. It will be possible to recognize the cars by the characteristic graphics on the body and the "A" sign on the tailgate. An operator is at the driver's seat to ensure each car.

The unmanned vehicles are equipped with an on-board computer with cartography from the 2GIS company, which is part of the Sberbank ecosystem.
