World's fastest road car is on sale in Europe and the US
The Japanese company Aspark has launched sales of the Owl electric hypercar in Europe and the USA. The minimum price is € 2.9 million (= 267 million rubles).
The development in the form of a prototype was presented in 2017, and the production version was shown in November 2019, and it took a year to prepare the model for production. The novelty is remarkable not only for its price, but also for its dynamics. According to the manufacturer, it is the fastest car in the world with a license for public roads. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h) takes just 1.72 seconds. Maximum speed - 400 km / h, acceleration time 0-300 km / h - 10.6 seconds.
The hypercar uses four electric motors with a total capacity of 2012 hp. The total torque is 2000 Nm. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 64 kWh is responsible for power supply. The cruising range for the outdated NEDC cycle is 450 km.
Owl uses a carbon fiber monocoque and body panels. The model also features active aerodynamics and a carbon ceramic braking system with 10-piston calipers up front.
"Owl" (as the name of the novelty is translated) is produced not in Japan, but in Italy: Manifattura Automobili Torino, which has extensive experience in working with composite parts, is engaged in this under a contract.
