Kia Motors has issued a Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for the updated version of the Stinger liftback. The certificate is published in the Rosstandart database.

Recall that OTTS is a document that gives the right to manufacture and sell machines.

No significant technical changes are foreseen. As follows from OTTS, in Russia the car will be available with two engines of 2.0 (197 or 247 hp) and 3.3 liters (370 hp). Both are combined with an 8-speed "automatic". The drive can be rear or full.

The restyled Stinger was introduced in August. The car received new graphics of headlights and lanterns, and the horizontal strip connecting the rear lighting equipment became LED (previously it was just a reflector). There are also 18- and 19-inch wheels of a new design, larger exhaust pipes, and a more prominent rear diffuser.

It is noteworthy that for the markets of the USA and South Korea the new 2.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with 304 hp became the base engine. and a torque of 422 Nm.

The most significant innovation in the cabin is the 10.25-inch widescreen display. The front panel and door cards are now stitched with threads, and the center console can be finished in aluminum or pseudo-carbon.

The modernization will not change the place of production of the Stinger for the Russian market; it will continue to be produced at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant.

Kia has not yet announced Russian prices and sales start dates.

The previous version of Stinger is still available at a price of 2,314,900 rubles.
