The director of the state corporation "Rostec" Sergei Chemezov moved from a foreign car to the domestic representative hybrid Aurus Senat, developed and manufactured by FSUE NAMI. The top manager said this in an interview with TASS.

According to Chemezov, the Senat sedan attracts with its consumer qualities: “Indeed, I switched to Aurus. Comfortable car, interesting. The level of performance is the interior, the technical stuffing, and the design is very high. "

Also, the head of Rostec said that he personally drove the sedan: “I could not resist - I got behind the wheel myself to try. The motor is powerful, the car is going very well. Not a bit worse than imported cars of this class. "

Chemezov recalled that Rostec enterprises also participated in the development of Senat, while non-standard ideas were used in the creation process and even such small details as, for example, the configuration of the rear doorway, were taken into account. “It would seem, well, a sedan, what is there to suffer, they made an ordinary door and that's it. But on most cars, this low-slope rear end is uncomfortable for tall people or people with a lot of weight. And here even such smallest details are taken into account, ”he said.

The general director of the state corporation also expressed the opinion that Aurus Senat is no worse than its imported counterparts, even German ones: "I am not planning to change this car for a Mercedes."

Aurus Senat S600 is the first executive car created in Russia after the collapse of the USSR. It was developed from scratch, the bulk of the work was done by FSUE NAMI within the framework of the state project "Unified Modular Platform" (UMP). The car is equipped with a 598-horsepower 4.4-liter gasoline V8, a 9-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor built between them, and an all-wheel-drive. For individuals, this model is offered for order at a price of 18 million rubles, shipments will begin in 2021.

At the moment, at the Sollers plant in Elabuga, equipment is being installed for the serial production of the model.
