Sales of new "small" Delica started in Japan

Sales of the Delica D family of subcompact vans have started in Japan: 2 new, third generation. Delica D: 2, like its predecessors, is based on the Suzuki Solio, which changed its generation at the end of November.

The range includes two modifications - regular (copy of Solio) and youth Custom (copy of Solio Bandit). In comparison with the previous generation, the body length has increased by 80 mm at once (for Delica D: 2 Custom - by 70 mm). Thanks to this, it was possible to increase the internal length of the cargo compartment by 100 mm. The cabin has slightly more space in the area of the head and shoulders of the rear passengers. The length and height of the standard Delica D: 2 - 3790 and 1745 mm, respectively.

In terms of style, the new Solio / Delica D: 2 are sleeker with wave-like under shaping to add dynamism to the sidewalls, and the top line of the windows rising towards the rear. The standard model has narrowed headlights, the Delica D: 2 Custom / Solio Bandit has two-tier head lighting equipment, but these tiers have changed places: now the DRL is on top, and the main unit is on the bottom.

The front panel of the cabin has become more massive and angular in shape. It is claimed that the quality of finishing materials is higher. Instruments, as before, centered. The head-up display of the multimedia system with a 9-inch touchscreen and the electric drive of both sliding doors are available to buyers.

Under the hood, a 1.2-liter gasoline engine is still installed, developing 91 hp. and 118 Nm. It works as part of a mild hybrid: a starter-generator (3.1 HP and 50 Nm) is used to assist when starting from a standstill. Among the transmissions, only a variator remained (previously a "robot" was also offered), front-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive. Average consumption is 4.5 l / 100 km.

Prices for small Delica start at 1,883,200 yen (= 1,345,000 rubles) and end at 2,399,100 yen (= 1,710,000 rubles).
