Putin signed a law on appealing fines from traffic cameras through the portal of state services
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law simplifying the procedure for appealing against fines for traffic violations recorded by video cameras (that is, without drawing up a protocol). The document was approved by the president on December 29, follows from the information on the state portal of legal information.
From now on, the appeal of fines from cameras will be carried out directly through the portal of public services, for this you will need to use a simple or enhanced qualified electronic signature (the first can be issued through gosuslugi.ru, the second must be obtained in person at the MFC).
The law will come into force on September 1, 2021. It relieves motorists from the need to personally apply to the authorized bodies and will make the appeal procedure more accessible since it is sometimes easier for a driver to pay a fine than to spend his time filling out papers in a department.
The adoption of the bill will also make it possible to establish a unified procedure for appealing against penal orders throughout the country, regardless of who issued them - the traffic police or a specialized institution.
