Ford Motor is conducting road tests of a promising electric modification of the mid-size Ford F-150 pickup, in connection with which the manufacturer has distributed a spectacular video. Recall that the electric F-Series was announced at the beginning of 2019, in July of the same year, the company showed how it tows wagons.

New footage shows the battery-powered F-150 being tested alongside another Ford electric vehicle, the Mustang Mach-E crossover. In the first part of the video, a pickup truck dashingly overcomes snowdrifts, demonstrating impressive off-road capabilities. Then Ford shows how an electric F-150 tows a large trailer uphill, later the prototype finds itself in off-road conditions and effectively scatters dirt and gravel flying out from under its wheels on the sides, and also drives over large stones. Obviously, the car is driven by two electric motors, although it should not be ruled out that later options with one, that is, with a mono-drive, will also be proposed.

The company is still silent about the technical characteristics of the electric F-150, but in the video, you can see the rear independent suspension of the electric pickup. It is radically different in design from that of the fuel version, which uses a spring arrangement with a continuous axle, which is classic for this class of cars.

According to the latest information from Darren Palmer, head of Ford Motor's electric vehicle development division, the new product will appear in American showrooms in late 2021. In the local market, it will compete with the Tesla Cybertruck, as well as the GMC Hummer EV.
