In January - November 2020, in-kind, 1.5 million cars were sold in the Russian Federation, of which 1.34 million were cars.
"For 11 months of 2020, 1.5 million new cars were sold in Russia ... The drop in sales compared to the same period in 2019 continues to decline and for 11 months amounted to 9.8%," the message says.
The results shown by the Russian passenger car market this year are worse than last year, but in 2020 the world is faced with a very difficult situation, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexander Morozov.
The best-selling passenger cars were Lada Granta (112 thousand), Lada Vesta (96 thousand), KIA Rio (78 thousand), Hyundai Creta (66 thousand), VW Polo (53 thousand). The majority - 86.4% - of the cars sold were produced in Russia.
Earlier, information on sales of new cars in Russia in January-November was published by the Association of European Businesses (AEB), according to its data, 1,346,351 cars were sold, the dynamics relative to the results of a year ago was minus 10.3%. However, the AEB considers data only on passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, while the Ministry of Industry and Trade also includes trucks of all classes and buses in the statistics.
