Russia conducted a crash test of the new Chinese crossover Bestune T77

Hyundai Motor was the first automaker to announce its production results in Russia. The Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus (HMMP) plant located in Sestroretsk near St. Petersburg produced more than 219,000 cars during 2020, which is 10.6% less than in 2019 when 245,000 cars were made.

Due to coronavirus restrictions and a recession in the car market, the rhythm of production was ragged: in April-June there was a deep recession, but in the second half of the year HMMP was a serious plus. In July - September, more than 59,000 cars rolled off the assembly line of the enterprise, which is 7% more than in the same period of 2019, and in October-December, the production volume amounted to almost 70,000 copies, which is 8% more than in October - December last year.

Also, the Russian plant Hyundai Motor managed to increase the volume of shipments of cars for export - more than 20,000 units were sent to neighboring countries. This is 19% more than a year earlier.

Since the second half of 2020, KMMR has been operating at full production capacity, the staff and wages of the plant workers have been kept at the pre-crisis level.

The Sestroretsk site Hyundai Motor produces platform models Hyundai Solaris (sedan) and Kia Rio (sedan and cross-hatchback), as well as the Hyundai Creta crossover.

The KhMMR plant has been operating since 2010, in 10 years it has produced 2.2 million cars in total.
