In July this year, Volkswagen released a restyled version of the second-generation Tiguan crossover. The journalists of the Spanish edition km77 decided to test its ability to overcome the so-called "moose test", during which a high-speed maneuver is simulated to avoid a collision with a certain obstacle that suddenly appeared on the road.

After several attempts, it turned out that the Tiguan is capable of passing this test at a speed of 77 km / h. This is an excellent result, considering that the new generation Volkswagen Golf hatchback was tested in July and it was able to successfully maneuver under the same conditions at 69 km / h. However, Tiguan competed with Pirelli Scorpion tires, while Golf during the "moose test" was shod in Bridgestone Turanza. During tests, the crossover heeled so hard that its right wheels broke off the road surface and this caused unsettling feelings in the driver.

It's worth noting that the Tiguan's competitors don't always shine in this test. Thus, the electric Hyundai Kona Electric is able to overcome the “moose test” at 74 km / h, the Mazda CX-30 and Kia e-Niro pass the task at the same speed. Renault Captur maneuvers at 75 km / h, Kia XCeed at 76. Tesla Model 3, by the way, copes with this test at a speed of 83 km / h, Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe - at 80 km / h.

Recall that the Volkswagen Tiguan for Russia and other EAEU countries is produced in a full production cycle (with welding and body painting) at the VW plant in Kaluga. In our market, prices for its upgraded version start at 1,749,900 rubles.

In the editorial park of Droma there was a Tiguan of the second generation, the experience of its operation can be studied in a special blog.
