Body welding line for Aurus was launched in Elabuga
At the Sollers plant in Yelabuga, for the first time, the body of the new Russian executive sedan Aurus Senat was welded using serial technology. This was reported by the press service of Aurus through the official pages in social networks.
For the welding of Aurus bodies, a robotic line was purchased from the South Korean Kyungki Industrial Co., Ltd., which has extensive experience in fulfilling orders for Hyundai-Kia, SsangYong Motor and other automotive companies.
A significant event took place on December 15, but it was reported about it only now. Previously, bodies for Aurus were cooked not on a production line, but on conductors with semi-automatic machines at the facilities of FGUP NAMI in Moscow.
The first welded body has a test status, that is, it was not assembled into a finished car. Debugging of a stable production process has been going on since December 15, as a result, subsequent test bodies are also welded.
Aurus Senat is the first executive car created in Russia after the collapse of the USSR. The machine was developed from scratch by FSUE NAMI within the framework of the "Unified Modular Platform" (EMP) state project. It is equipped with a 598-horsepower 4.4-liter gasoline V8, a 9-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor built between them and all-wheel drive. While this car is supplied only to government agencies, it will become available to ordinary civil consumers from May 2021.
