Traffic police began to track fans of drift through social networks

The traffic police can fine motorists not only with the help of traffic cameras or when patrolling the streets but also in a completely remote mode: the traffic police regularly monitor social networks for posting videos and photographs in which drivers violate traffic rules.

So, on December 22, a video was published in which a VAZ driver was driving along the roads of Kazan and trying to start a drift car. According to the law enforcement officers, he performed dangerous maneuvers, thereby creating a threat to other road users.

The traffic police identified the driver by the numbers, according to the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Tatarstan. It turned out to be a 19-year-old local resident. As a result, he was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 12.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Violation of the rules for the location of a vehicle on the carriageway, oncoming passing or overtaking”). The fine is RUB 1,500.
